Music has always been at the center of my life. My journey began around the age of 8 when my parents got The Beatles '1' CD, which I promptly listened to about 1,000 times before I hit 10 years old. I picked up a guitar for the first time at age 13 and never looked back. My taste is all over the map. Living life as a musical, Jen bursts into song at a moment's notice - much to the delight and/or horror of those ambushed by the sound. Jen grew up singing in choirs and bands in her church days and throughout her school years.

I have played music since 1996. I started with eight years of classical piano, then ventured to three years of jazz piano and jazz theory, and two years of pipe organ. I have been taking voice lessons since 2020. I enjoy playing many music styles, but I primarily write alternative hard rock music.

I have been playing drums since 2018 and have loved every second of it! I have a very wide range of music that I enjoy, but my two favorite genres are punk/garage rock (specifically “angry girl music of the indie rock persuasion”) and 1970s soul/R&B/funk.

I'm originally from Rockville, Maryland and grew up playing drums on and off in middle school and high school. After high school, I took a decade off from playing music until 2020, where I was looking for a new hobby after the pandemic. Since then I have taken up the keyboard, the guitar, and other percussion instruments.

Self-taught amateur drummer who started to play with chopsticks as sticks and pillows as Toms. I’ve always gravitated towards drums or broader percussion in any song and that made me want to try and playing it on my own.

Tara’s full name in Urdu translates to “melody,” so it makes sense that singing came naturally to her at a young age. Her earliest musical influences were from her parents’ love of 80’s pop, Bollywood, and country music— and everything in between.
